The International College of Celebrancy is the world's original Distance Education Course for the Training of Celebrants (Est.1995). We have been the leading Organisation in the Training and Organisation of celebrants with a Diploma Courses developed by an eminent team of educationists led by Professor Michael Parer, an acknowledged academic and developer of Distance Education for University Courses throughout the world.

The College Courses are also taught face-to-face. The Director of Studies for the United Kingdom intends to make seminars and training sessions a significant facility for UK students.

Over eighteen progressive celebrants have significantly contributed to the College's Training Courses.

The course is open to all aspiring or practising Civil and Secular Celebrants, interfaith Officiants, and clergy who wish to study the non-theological nature of ceremony.

The course is also enriching for persons who wish to bring ceremony and ritual into their own lives, within their own family, and/or within their own profession.

The training involves the Nature and Practice of creating, orchestrating and celebrating client-approved and chosen Rites of Passage and Ceremonies. This includes Wedding or Marriage, Funeral, Naming and other Ceremonies, for secular, non-church, non-denominational, inter-denominational, inter-faith people. Trained professional celebrants are particularly sensitive and skilled to assist clients of mixed cultures and religions. Now in its fifteenth year, this highly successful, effective and enriching course is completely written by celebrants for celebrants.

We pride ourselves that it is a course of quality, substance, and integrity. Our dedication is to Best Practice and the Pursuit of Excellence in every ceremony.

Our Board Chairman, Professor Michael Parer, is an acknowledged world authority in Distance Education. Our foundation consultant, Terese Archibald, is skilled and experienced in competency based training. The Dean of Studies, Dr Chris Watson, has studied and lectured in Universities in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

Dally Messenger III, the Principal, is an experienced teacher and university lecturer with three tertiary qualifications in education. He has been an active and forward thinking celebrant for over thirty five years.

UNSOLICITED TESTIMONIALS

I absolutely love my vocation as a celebrant ... I am very busy... I am booked a year ahead ! ... I attribute this success to the great teaching I received from the college …

BS

The College’s approach is much more rounded and personally satisfying for the couple and the celebrant. Unlike the other course, I observed no hint of mass production – rather professional pride in catering for the two individuals and their needs. I found that going to weddings and analysing them was very helpful and thought provoking.

SH

Messenger’s articles were good as it reinforced what I had already covered in my study of Module 2. All very helpful and practical tips provided by him. His information pack he sends out to clients is fantastic – covers everything I think I would send to clients. All of this helps me to start thinking in practical terms of when I start my business and practice as a Celebrant.

JB

I received the reading material and assignments for the first module in this course. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of material included, having been disappointed by previous experiences with some correspondence courses. This one seems to offer real depth and challenges.

MB

Thank you for your encouragement and nurturing of me and giving me the strength and faith in myself that I could take it on. I felt an amazing calm and confidence when I was with the family and delivering the ceremony and much of that is from your training, support and the great conference which gave me the very practical tools and know-how to get through it without looking like the complete novice that I was.

ST

I am amazed at Messenger's generosity.... I think he must be a very caring and generous person to enable students to use and adapt his work. He has saved celebrants a lot of work. I am very thankful!!
